Billie Eilish broke a long list of records at the Oscars 2022 this past Sunday when she won the Academy Award for Best Original Song with her brother and collaborator Finneas. The duo became the first siblings to win in the category since 1964, and Billie became the first Oscar winner born in the 2000s as well as the youngest artist to ever win three awards for the same song — the James Bond anthem “No Time to Die” previously won a Grammy and a Golden Globe.
That being said, there was a whole lot to celebrate at the Oscars ceremony, and when Billie and Finneas were announced as the winners, Billie couldn’t wait to embrace someone with joy — and that someone wasn’t her brother or her mom, but Sean “Diddy” Combs.
On the day after Hollywood’s biggest night, Billie posted a clip of the Oscars telecast to Instagram, sharing the moment the award winners were revealed. “CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS?????????” Billie wrote in the caption.
“So funny that I hugged Diddy before my mom or my brother,” Billie joked in a comment under her own post, after a quick rewatch of the clip.
Diddy and his daughter Chance were seated at the same table as Billie, Finneas, and their mother Maggie Baird. In the video, right after Zoë Kravitz announced Billie and Finneas’ names, we can see Billie jump up and cheer with excitement, immediately hopping over to hug a smiling Diddy. After getting that important first hug out of the way, Billie then of course did hug her brother and her mom. Finneas also shared a quick celebratory dap with Diddy, because, I mean… he’s Diddy.
Billie’s excitement was overflowing for the rest of the night, as she shared an adorable moment with Zoë Kravitz offstage, and reunited with her tablemate at the Vanity Fair Oscars After Party, all smiles while posing with Megan Thee Stallion.
Billie, who performed the award-winning title song to No Time to Die at the Oscars ceremony alongside Finneas, is set to hit the stage again at the upcoming 64th annual Grammy Awards.
The Grammys 2022 will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 3. Billie is nominated a whopping seven times this year, scoring nods for her second studio album Happier Than Ever and her concert documentary Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles.
