The parents of a Utah woman accused of murdering her husband while he slept have been charged with helping their daughter cover up the murder, it was reported.
Jennifer Gledhill, 41, allegedly shot her husband, Matthew Johnson, 51, in the head while he slept, though the date of the murder is in contention.
Nevertheless, the Cottonwood Heights woman was arrested on October 2 for the slaying after a man she was having an affair with told the police that she had admitted to killing her husband, who was reportedly a member of the Utah National Guard, on or around September 21 or 22.

Now, Rosalie, 67, and Thomas Gledhill, 71, have been slapped with obstruction of justice charges, a first-degree felony, for allegedly helping their daughter cover up Johnson’s murder. A neighbor told the police that they had seen Jennifer’s parents cleaning the home on Sept. 24 until late in the evening despite Rosalie claiming they had only been there for an hour, FOX 13 reported.
Rosalie also reportedly told the police that she had purchased a mattress from Amazon at her daughter’s request and that it had arrived that day. When the authorities searched the home, they found the new mattress, but the police haven’t yet been able to find the old one that was previously there or even Johnson’s body.
The police did find, however, blood stains on the carpet under the bed as well as on the bed frame and evidence that “significant cleanup had taken place after this crime had occurred, including bleaching walls and using carpet cleaning supplies,” investigators said, according to local station KUTV.

Arrest documents obtained by the local outlet said neither of Jennifer’s parents have cooperated with the investigation or helped them locate the body, which Jennifer allegedly burned, according to the police.
Detectives reportedly obtained a search warrant for Rosalie and Thomas’ home, where they found a plastic tote with a Glock 19X gun box that had been wrapped in a child’s onesie.

According to the district attorney’s office, the gun container matched the model of Glock Jennifer had allegedly shown the man she was having an affair with, who detailed that revelation to the police.
Court records show Jennifer had started the affair after she and her husband filed for divorce, an ordeal that was described as contentious as it involved a nasty custody dispute involving the pair’s three children.
Jennifer reportedly made her first court appearance earlier this week and was ordered not to have contact with any of her three children. She faces murder and a few other charges, it was reported.
