In Fridays game, the Pittsburgh Penguins lost to the Edmonton Oilers 4-0. Despite the loss, Sidney Crosby praised goaltender Joel Blomqvist during his post-game press conference.
The Penguins have a record of 3 wins, 5 losses, and 1 overtime loss, with 2 wins, 3 losses, and 1 overtime loss on the road.
Blomqvist made 46 saves in just his fifth NHL game. His performance helped keep the score from getting worse. Sidney Crosby acknowledged that the team struggled but appreciated how Blomqvist fought throughout the game.
He continued to battle, he saw some really good looks, odd-man rushes and I thought he hung in there kept competing, Crosby said (via globalnews.com). They have some dangerous shooters and he did a great job hanging in there for us.
Sidney Crosby also shared mixed feelings about the game. He felt the Penguins didnt deserve a better outcome but knew things could change quickly.
I dont feel like we deserved it, but sometimes you have to win games like that. So if that goes in, maybe its a different story. But, yeah, obviously, the first we were on our heels, and then part of that second, the time that youre talking about, we had some looks there. You know, maybe that changes things, he said.

The team will need to learn from this game as they prepare for upcoming challenges.
Sidney Crosby draws Connor McDavids support for Team Canada captaincy
During a recent interview, Connor McDavid emphasized that Sidney Crosby should continue as Team Canadas captain for the upcoming 4 Nations Face-Off in February.
Should be Sid for sure. Hes Sidney Crosby, and hes been there so many times, McDavid said (via pittsburghhockeynow.com).
This tournament will include teams from Canada, the U.S., Sweden, and Finland. It will take place in Boston and Montreal during the NHLs break.
Crosby responded positively to McDavids comments, saying it is an honor to wear a letter for the national team.
I appreciate that. Being a little bit more experienced, maybe hes giving me that, Crosby said. Hes obviously a great leader and hes done so much for the team here and for Canada as well.
So, any time youre looking to wear a letter or whether its here in or (to) be part of Team Canada, its a great honor regardless.
The Penguins will next face the Vancouver Canucks, who have a record of 3 wins, 1 loss, and 2 overtime losses. The Canucks have no wins and 2 overtime losses at home. The game is scheduled for October 26 at 10:00 PM EDT.
