A South Carolina woman was gunned down in the parking lot of the fast food chain Bojangles that police believe is connected to a “long running dispute” in the area.
On November 15, Antoinette Michelle Hammonds-Colon, 40, was tragically shot and killed in the parking lot of the Southern fast food restaurant located at 151 Harbison Boulevard in Columbia, South Carolina. When emergency services arrived at the scene, they found Michelle in critical condition and she was rushed to a local hospital.
Shortly after Michelle succumbed to her life-threatening injuries after suffering a gunshot wound to her upper body. Her official autopsy is scheduled for November 18 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
The Columbia Police Department is now on the hunt for the gunman responsible, with their prime suspect being 23-year-old Ja’Quivian Kennerly. Ja’Quivian is considered “armed and dangerous” and is wanted on multiple charges including murder.

According to reports by WLTX News 19, police believe that the shooting “stemmed from an ongoing dispute between two groups” in the area. Law enforcement stated that there numerous shots were fired during the incident, and that they believe numerous people were involved. No other injuries have been reported.
Melron Kelly, spokesperson for the Columbia Police Department, shared in a statement: “Upon gathering some information, we found that there was an altercation in the parking lot that led to the shooting. The individuals involved were known to each other.”
The fatal shooting temporarily shut down the 100 block of busy Harbison Boulevard as officers from both Richland and Lexington counties worked together at the scene. Police are still in the process of investigating the death case and are reviewing video footage from cameras in the nearby area and interviewing eyewitnesses.
According to reports by Fox 57, several employees and customers dining at the fast food restaurant witnessed the altercation first-hand and are being questioned about the incident.
