After Diddy was arrested, his family members were also accused of crimes.
On November 7, Deon “D1” Best accused Diddy of using his mother’s name to create a company to hide money and other illegal contracts. Deon “D1” Best was a former gangster , then “reformed” to become a music producer and collaborated with Diddy in the 1990s.
At the time, Deon “D1” Best was the owner of Finish Line Entertainment, who acted as an intermediary to sign artists to Diddy’s Bad Boy Records. Together, they produced rapper Notorious BIG’s million-selling, platinum-certified album Born Again . However, Diddy did not directly use his own name, but used Janice Combs ’s name to sign contracts full of terms that oppressed young artists and sought to seize music copyrights. When artists suffered losses due to the contract, Diddy would deny responsibility because the rapper’s mother was the one named.
Producer Accuses Diddy of Using Mother’s Name to Sign Illegal Contracts
Diddy used similar tactics on two other albums he collaborated with Deon “D1″ Best. This not only deprived the artists of copyright ownership, but also affected their income. Deon “D1″ Best is now planning to sue Janice Combs for being the sole owner of Bad Boy Records’ wrongful contracts. He called Diddy’s actions fraudulent and coercive. Furthermore, this man suspects that Janice Combs is actually involved in the case, not just being the sole owner of her son’s contracts.
Other artists who have worked with Diddy, Mark Curry and Mason Betha, have also made similar accusations. Since 2020, Mason Betha has posted videos cursing Diddy for using his mother’s name to sign contracts to oppress and take over his music copyright. However, at that time, not many people paid attention to this accusation.
Diddy’s legal team has declined to comment on the case. The music mogul remains in jail awaiting trial. The Daily Mail has reached out to Janice Combs’ attorney but has not received a response.
Diddy and his mother remain silent in the face of accusations.
Diddy was arrested in New York (USA) on September 16. This tycoon was accused of a series of serious crimes of sex, prostitution, extortion… but pleaded not guilty in the prosecution hearing held on September 17. Previously, Cassie Ventura – Diddy’s ex-girlfriend – accused and filed a lawsuit against the rapper “using money and power to cover up evidence of physical and mental abuse”.
One week after Diddy’s arrest, the U.S. Homeland Security Investigations Bureau publicly released an indictment exposing the crimes of this “sexual predator” to the light and causing global shock. Accordingly, Diddy and members of the Combs Enterprise group, including senior supervisors, security personnel, family staff and personal assistants, were accused of organizing many Freak Offs – gatherings of sex and drug use.
During these gatherings, the hip-hop star allegedly beat, threw objects, and physically and mentally abused his victims to force them to engage in maniacal acts of his choosing. The attacks were described as “often causing injuries that took days or weeks to heal.” In addition, Diddy controlled his victims in a variety of ways, including physical violence, promises of job opportunities, threats to cut off financial support, and other coercive measures, including monitoring their whereabouts and medical records, and providing them with addictive substances.
Diddy’s scandal shocks the world
More than 120 victims have come forward but Diddy still denies the charges. The rapper has applied for bail three times but has been denied. The list of crimes committed by hip-hop mogul Diddy is not over yet. Lawyers have filed at least five new civil lawsuits against the notorious rapper in the Southern District Court of New York, USA. Although the plaintiffs have not been named, they are revealed to be two men and three women. Diddy is accused of raping a businessman, a personal trainer, a 17-year-old musician and a young singer in 2022 alone.
Notably, in the new lawsuits, Diddy was accused of raping a 13-year-old girl after a party at the VMAs in 2000. The incident caused a stir because it involved two other Hollywood artists. In a 19-page court filing, Jane Doe (name changed), now 37, said the incident occurred after she went to her bedroom to lie down because she felt dizzy and had a headache from drinking alcohol at the party on September 7, 2000. According to the victim, Diddy entered the room with two celebrities, one man and one woman, looking crazy and forcing her to perform sexual acts.
On October 10, Diddy appeared in his first public hearing. He caused outrage by blowing kisses and waving to his relatives happily in court. At the recent hearing, Diddy did not speak but authorized his lawyer to sue the government for leaking the video of him beating his ex-girlfriend to the media. The rap mogul’s trial will take place on May 5, 2025.
