ABC News had a special report that cut into The View’s programming which did not fly with fans of the talk show.
Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin were on today for Wednesday’s, November 13, episode of The View. The episode was centered around Whoopi’s birthday as it was the theme. After doing their Hot Topics discussion about Trump’s pick of Fox News Host and Army veteran Pete Hegseth as Defense Secretary, Whoopi segue the conversation to her first favorite thing which was her own prosecco.
Throughout the episode, Whoopi shared her favorite things with the audience as a treat for her birthday. The show went into it’s first commercial break and viewers came back to the ABC News special report and not the return of the ladies.

Fans were furious by the interruption and expressed that on X Formerly Twitter. One fan said: “This isnt news worthy of breaking into programming. Maybe your network reporting every time trump passes gas brought us to this moment where he still sucks all the oxygen out of the room.” A second fan said: “Put #TheView back on.” Another inquired: “All the local news networks have a 12 noon news broadcast. They can’t fookin wait?” A fourth fan said: “This BULLS— is not ‘breaking news!'”
The special report was about President Joe Biden welcoming newly President-Elect Donald Trump for the transition of power step in the process. The traditional step is usually done, but Trump scorned it in 2020. While talking to the press, Trump seemed to welcome the tradition as he and Biden discussed the transfer of power behind a fireplace.
Both men shook hands while Biden congratulated Trump and said he was “looking forward to “having a smooth transition.” He also promised to help in accommodating Trump with the process and Trump thanked Biden afterwards.
“Politics is tough, and it’s, in many cases, not a very nice world but it is a nice world today,” Trump said. “And I appreciate it very much. A transition thats so smooth, it’ll be as smooth as it can get, and I very much appreciate that, Joe.”
The report also mentioned Trump’s cabinets picks such as Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy as well as Vice President Kamala Harris returning to the White House since the election results.
