Sundance Head, the winner of The Voice season 11, was shot while hunting alone on his Texas farm on November 15. Fortunately, the country music singer is expected to recover and his life is not in danger.

According to People, the incident occurred between 4:00 and 4:30 PM when Head was hunting in the woods. He was struck by a bullet in the abdomen. After the shooting, the 46-year-old singer was airlifted to a nearby hospital.

Head’s wife, Misty, took to Facebook to update fans on his condition. She shared that she had seen her husband and confirmed that he was safe. “He’s doing well and is in good spirits after several hours,” Misty wrote. “The kids are with him, and our prayers have been answered—there was no serious injury from the bullet. Thank you all for your prayers.”

Misty also explained that Head had forgotten his phone when he went hunting, which left him unable to call for help after being shot. “He had to run down the road to flag down a car for assistance. Someone saw him and helped him call 911. He is so lucky and grateful to be alive,” she added.

While Misty suggested that the accident was caused by Head’s own carelessness, a representative for Sundance Head later clarified that the shot that injured him might have been from a nearby hunter who accidentally fired.

Local police have been contacted by E! News, but as of yet, there has been no official statement on the incident.

Sundance Head, who began his singing career later in life at the age of 33, gained national attention after winning The Voice in 2016. He released an album in 2022 and has toured with his coach, Blake Shelton.
