Ave Maria is a song by Franz Schubert, famously performed by Luciano Pavarotti. After it finished, Trump resumed his speech.
Another wrote: “Trump pauses Traverse City, Michigan rally for a medical emergency, again.”
The incident was reminiscent of a recent Trump town hall in Pennsylvania when medical attention required in the audience caused Trump to stop talking. He then swayed to Ave Maria and other songs for nearly 40 minutes.
The former president started hours late, causing many rally goers to leave before he took the stage. The temperature dropped at the outdoor venue as he spoke, causing even more people to walk out early.
Trump spent the rally repeatedly decrying Harris and the Democrats, but offered a message geared more toward unity as he was wrapping up. We are one people, one family and one glorious nation under God, Trump said.
He also attacked Harris for partying with Beyoncé on Friday night as the pair continued an intensive schedule of campaign rallies before next months election.
Trump was late to the rally, coming from an interview with popular podcaster Joe Rogan. In the podcast interview, they discussed everything from aliens to income tax. The move from Trump was seen as an attempt to reach young male voters.
Trump said hes never been a believer in theories about extraterrestrial life visiting Earth.
He said he is asked constantly about what the U.S. government knows about the people coming from space, and that, as president, he was told a lot.
But he dodged Rogans entreaties to discuss alien life in detail.
Theres no reason not to think that Mars and all these planets dont have life, Trump said. Rogan told him probes and rovers from Earth have shown theres no life there.
Its not been a big thing for me, Trump replied.
