Wyndham Clark Calls Out ‘Over-the-Top’ Tom Kim as Presidents Cup Feud Escalates!.ThuHa

Wyndham Clark has hit back at Tom Kim’s ‘extreme’ actions and played down his and his International teammates’ role at the recent Presidents Cup in Canada.

Clark and his fellow Americans prevailed at Royal Montreal Golf Club, defeating their International rivals 18.5-11.5 following a dominant display in the Sunday singles matches. The scoreline was much closer throughout the week though, which led to a hotly-contested clash on the golf course.

Tensions were high across all four days of play in Canada, with the man often at the center of the drama Kim, with the 25-year-old playing in his second Presidents Cup after making his debut two years earlier in 2022.

After locking horns with Scottie Scheffler on day one, Kim and his partner – and namesake – Si Woo Kim then clashed with Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele in the Saturday afternoon foursomes. Si Woo infamously holed a superb shot from the bunker on the 16th, before dropping Steph Curry’s infamous “Night, Night” celebration.

Two holes later the International duo eventually lost to their Cantlay and Schauffele, and watching on from the sidelines Clark could not help himself, mocking the Kims with a “Night, Night” celebration of his own. Later that evening, Kim went on to accuse Team USA members of ‘cursing’ at him and his teammates.

This is something that was backed up by his caddie Paul Tesori who told SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio this week: “I witnessed three [incidents] where members of the U.S. team emphatically got personal with Tom and cursed at him and got very personal.”

Just days later, U.S. member Clark has had his say. “Earlier that morning [Keegan Bradley] and I played Tom and Si Woo,” Clark told Golf Digest’s The Loop Podcast. “And we witnessed them making tons of putts on us and playing unbelievable and then obviously witnessed all of the celebrations that they were doing.

“And then just some of the other antics that maybe people weren’t seeing on TV, that obviously just kind of gets you to where you’re a little frustrated because some of it was extreme, in my opinion. Some of it seemed a little fabricated and so it almost didn’t seem authentic, especially for someone that’s usually pretty quiet, and so it almost seemed like they were trying to do something.

“So we could feel that. And so [Keegan] and I lost, they beat us fair and square. They played unbelievable.” Clark of course addressed the mocking of Si Woo at the 18th green and felt his response was justified after the International stars had celebrated in front of his teammate Tony Finau.

“He did that right in front of Tony Finau and I,” he added. “And we looked at each other. We’re like, ‘It’s a tight ball game. I don’t understand why you would do that?’ And then we go to 18, obviously, and we both were sitting there and we’re like, ‘Man, if we win this hole, we’re for sure giving them – we’re putting it right back in their face’.”
